At last week’s City Commission meeting, Roberto Barrera of the City of Rio Grande Public Utility Department was recognized as the Employee of the Month for November 2024.
With 13 years of dedicated service, Barrera has become a cornerstone of the department, ensuring the city’s utilities operate efficiently and reliably. His exceptional work ethic and commitment to the community earned him the prestigious recognition.
Eric Flores, director of the Public Utility Department, praised Barrera’s contributions. “Roberto is the kind of employee every organization dreams of having. His knowledge, reliability, and unwavering dedication to his work set an example for everyone in our department,” Flores said.
Mayor Gilberto Falcon also commended Barrera during the ceremony. “Our city runs smoothly because of individuals like Roberto Barrera. His efforts often go unnoticed by the public, but they are essential to the quality of life we enjoy in Rio Grande City,” Falcon said.
The City Commission presented Barrera with a plaque of appreciation and thanked him for his invaluable service. “Thank you, Roberto, for all that you do to keep our city running smoothly,” Falcon added.
