Rio Grande City to Host Trunk-or-Treat Event at Basilio Villarreal Municipal Park

Families and children in Rio Grande City are in for a spooktacular evening as the city’s annual Trunk or Treat event will take place on October 24 at the Basilio Villarreal Municipal Park. The event, scheduled from 6 p.m. to 9 p.m., will bring together local businesses to create a fun and festive Halloween experience for the community.

At the event, participating businesses will decorate their vehicle trunks with spooky and creative themes, distributing candy to local trick-or-treaters as part of a safe and family-friendly celebration. In addition to trick-or-treating, attendees can expect other Halloween-themed activities for all ages.

Rio Grande City Mayor Gilberto Falcon expressed excitement for the event, emphasizing the importance of community engagement. “Trunk or Treat is one of our city’s favorite events, and it’s a great opportunity for families to come together in a safe environment,” said Mayor Falcon. “We’re grateful to our local businesses for their support and commitment to making this Halloween a memorable one for our children.”

Frank Eguia, Director of Parks and Recreation for Rio Grande City, also highlighted the significance of the event. “We’re thrilled to host this year’s Trunk or Treat at Basilio Villarreal Municipal Park,” said Eguia. “Our team has been working hard to ensure a fun, safe, and spooky evening for all. We encourage everyone to come out, enjoy the event, and make some great Halloween memories.”
