The Rio Grande City Economic Development Corporation (EDC) and the Rio Grande City Main Street Program proudly participated in the 2025 Winter Texan Expo, held on January 21-22, at the McAllen Convention Center. The event, which attracts thousands of Winter Texans from across the region, provided a unique platform to promote Rio Grande City as a vibrant destination for visitors and potential residents.
Representing Rio Grande City at the Expo were Yanderi de la Cruz, Main Street Director, and Amintaa Reyna Alaniz, Bessie III Trolley Tour Guide. Together, they highlighted the city’s rich cultural heritage, historic landmarks, and thriving local businesses. The centerpiece of their presentation was an invitation to explore the city's Main Street District and take part in guided trolley tours aboard the iconic Bessie III.
“The Winter Texan Expo is an invaluable opportunity to connect with a key audience who appreciate the unique charm and history of our community,” said Yanderi de la Cruz, Main Street Director. “By showcasing what Rio Grande City has to offer, we’re encouraging visitors to not only discover our city but to fall in love with its culture and character.”
The Rio Grande City booth at the Expo featured promotional materials, including brochures, and information about the city’s must-see attractions. Visitors to the booth also had the chance to learn about upcoming trolley tours.
The participation of the Rio Grande City EDC and Main Street Program in the Winter Texan Expo highlights the city’s commitment to economic growth and community development. By connecting with Winter Texans, Rio Grande City aims to attract visitors who contribute to the local economy and become ambassadors for the city’s unique offerings.
