The Rio Grande City Police Department will host its next Coffee with a Cop event on Tuesday, August 6, 2024, from 8 a.m. to 9:30 a.m. at Denny’s. This event provides residents with an opportunity to meet local officers, share their thoughts, and enjoy a cup of coffee in an informal setting.
Coffee with a Cop events aim to foster better relationships between the police force and the community by creating a welcoming environment for open dialogue. Residents are encouraged to bring their questions, concerns, and ideas to discuss with officers in attendance.
Chief of Police, Noe Castillo, emphasized the importance of these community engagement events. "Coffee with a Cop is a great way for us to connect with the residents we serve," Castillo said. "We look forward to hearing from our community and building stronger, more trusting relationships."
Denny’s, located at 4756 US HWY-83, will host the event, providing a convenient and comfortable location for residents to gather. No reservations are required, and all community members are welcome to attend.
