Officers from the Rio Grande City Police Department brought an early Valentine’s Day surprise to local nursing home residents Thursday, delivering fresh roses as part of their annual “Cupid Cop” initiative.
The officers visited multiple facilities, handing out flowers and sharing warm conversations with residents. The gesture was meant to brighten their day and show appreciation for the elderly members of the community.
“We are grateful for the opportunity to spread love and joy to our senior citizens,” said Rio Grande City Mayor Gilberto Falcon. “This initiative shows the heart of our community and the dedication of our police officers beyond their duty to protect and serve.”
The police department expressed appreciation to the nursing homes for their hospitality and looks forward to continuing the tradition in the future.
