Thousands of Rio Grande City residents gathered last week at Basilio Villarreal Municipal Park for the annual Trunk-or-Treat event, a popular Halloween celebration organized by the city that brings families and community members together for a safe evening of fun.
The event featured dozens of decorated vehicles sponsored by local business and organizations, as well as festive games, and candy giveaways. Several City departments were there to ensure a memorable experience for children and families. Attendees embraced the Halloween spirit, dressing in a variety of costumes and enjoying the friendly, community-oriented atmosphere.
Rio Grande City Mayor Gilberto Falcon expressed his pride in the city’s efforts to provide a safe, family-friendly event for all.
“We’re thrilled to see so many families enjoying themselves at our annual Trunk-or-Treat,” Mayor Falcon said. “This event not only brings our community together, but it also offers a safe environment for children to celebrate Halloween. We encourage everyone to stay safe during Halloween festivities. Remember to stick to well-lit areas, keep an eye on your children, and enjoy the season responsibly.”
The success of this year’s Trunk-or-Treat highlights Rio Grande City’s commitment to providing safe, fun activities for residents of all ages, with the city looking forward to keeping the tradition alive in the years to come.
