The Rio Grande City Public Library and the Kelsey-Bass Museum joined forces with Medina Electric Cooperative, Inc. to host the annual Veterans Day Appreciation Event on Thursday, November 7, honoring local veterans for their service. The event was held at Basilio Villarreal Municipal Park, where pre-reserved plates were available for pickup.
In gratitude to local veterans, each honoree was able to reserve meal plates by calling the Rio Grande City Public Library. Plates were made available for pickup on the day of the event.
"Honoring our veterans has always been a priority, and we were proud to carry on this annual tradition with the help of Medina Electric Cooperative and our city departments,” said Mayor Gilberto Falcon. “Their service and sacrifice have shaped our community and our country, and this event was one way we could express our deep appreciation.”
