RGC Downtown Christmas Lights Bring Holiday Spirit, Promote Tourism

The Rio Grande City Public Works Department has begun decorating the downtown area with the City's traditional Main Street Christmas Lights.

"The City of RGC Public Works Department is getting our great City ready for the upcoming holiday season," declared RGC Deputy City Manager Noe Castillo. "Thank you for all you do."

Aside from the downtown Christmas lights creating a festive and cheerful atmosphere, they can also offer a small economic boost to the area. The holiday season is a significant time for retailers, restaurants, and local businesses. Festive decorations attract shoppers and diners to the downtown area, boosting local commerce.

Additionally, the media attention and social media buzz generated by elaborately decorated downtown areas can serve as marking and promotion for Main Street attracting visitors and encouraging a positive image of their community.
