City and regional leaders came together in Rio Grande City on October 21 for the Starr Camargo Bridge Expansion Act Ceremony, hosted by the Starr Camargo Bridge Co. The event celebrated a major project aimed at boosting cross-border trade and economic growth in the area.
Among the officials present were Rio Grande City Mayor Gilberto Falcon, Commissioner Roger Olivarez, City Manager Gilbert Millan, and Rio Grande City EDC Board of Directors President Dalinda Guillen. Their attendance highlighted the strong local support for this expansion and the opportunities it brings for regional development.
The expansion will make it easier for goods and businesses to move across the border, strengthening the connection between Rio Grande City and Mexico. This project is seen as a big step forward in supporting local businesses and enhancing the city’s role in international trade.
“This expansion isn’t just about a bridge, it’s about opening doors to new opportunities for our city and its residents,” said Mayor Gilberto Falcon. “We are incredibly grateful to Sam Vale and Robert Vale for leading this project, and to Congressman Cuellar and Senator Cornyn for their hard work in getting the necessary legislation passed.”
Rio Grande City extended its thanks to Sam Vale, President of Starr Camargo Bridge Co., and Robert Vale, Chief Operating Officer, for their dedication to this important project. Special appreciation was also given to Congressman Henry Cuellar and Senator John Cornyn, who played key roles in passing the legislation to make this expansion possible.
