The Rio Grande City Police Department, in collaboration with Rio Grande City CrimeStoppers, hosted its annual National Night Out on Tuesday, October 1, at Basilio Villarreal Park. The event aimed to strengthen the relationship between the community and local law enforcement agencies.
Residents enjoyed an evening of food, games, contests, and kiddie rides while getting to know the men and women who serve their community. “National Night Out was an excellent opportunity for our community to come together and interact with our local law enforcement in a positive, fun setting,” said Mayor Gilberto Falcon. “Events like this helped build trust and partnership, which are vital for a safe and thriving city.”
“We wanted our community to feel comfortable and supported by our department. National Night Out was a chance for us to engage with residents, listen to their concerns, and show them that we are here to protect and serve,” added Chief of Police Noe Castillo.
