The Rio Grande City Economic Development Corp, and the city’s Main Street program, teamed up earlier this week to help promote their popular Trolley Tours of historic downtown RGC, and their upcoming Chili Showdown Cook-off. Proudly representing Rio Grande City at the 2019 Winter Texan Expo & Health Fair, held at the McAllen Convention Center from Tuesday, January 15 to Wednesday, January 16, were Main Street and EDC employees Nancy Perez, and Melinda Gomez.
According to the Expo's website, every year between the months of October and March, 150,000 Winter Texans visit the Rio Grande Valley. These visitors infuse about $802.5 million into the Valley's economy and many of them will decide to retire permanently in Texas. Today's retirees are increasing in number, are more financially secure, and live longer than their predecessors. Area businesses, Health Professionals, and Health Related services benefit from these seasonal residents and their families.
During the month of February, visitors to Rio Grande City will have the option to sign up for a Lunch & Trolley Tour combo for only $15. For more information please contact the Rio Grande City Main Street office at 956-488-0074. The 11th annual Chili Showdown is set for February 2nd.
