The Rio Grande City Sanitation Dept. recently announced it would hold another city-wide cleanup effort from Tuesday, May 29, through Friday, June 1.
During this time, residents can dispose of large piles of brush and/or bulky-items at the city's 14 acres property located on 632 W. Eisenhower St. This is an option open to residents who need to dispose of extra waste in-between scheduled pick-ups.
"We are embarking on a City wide clean-up project. For this project, multiple roll-offs will be setup at the 14 acres property," reads a notice from the City. "Residents will be required to show proof by providing a valid ID and Utility Bill. [This service is for] Rio Grande City resident only and, they must haul their own trash [to the site between 9:30 am, and 6:30 pm]. This is an opportunity to get rid of extra brush, appliances and bulky items. Residents will be required to unload all trash items into the roll-off containers. We encourage all residents to do their part in their helping us keep Rio Grande City clean."
